In consumer printers, the print head scans across the the page as it lays down ink inches at a time. With PageWide technology, the print head is stationary and lays down ink across the entire width of the page as it passes below. When HP introduced the lineup of A3 pageWide office printers, I was on the team responsible for the high-capacity input module, feeding the print engine with up to 4,000 sheets of paper.
